Our bodies must have more than just food and water to sustain us, we must also have a spirit.  We are told that if our spirit is dead than so will our bodies die. And, that our faith works the same way as our bodies do.  Without deeds to keep our faith alive and active then our faith is nothing.  

We must have good deeds to keep our active, it¹s kind of like a car, if we don¹t change to oil, and keep the fluids fresh our car will break down. So to will happen to our faith if we don¹t keep it in good condition, by our good works, or deeds.  If we cannot keep our faith from becoming stagnant, then those people around us that we are trying to witness to will see that we are just an empty shell.

JESUS wants us to be able to do all kinds of good deeds, He places people and objects in our path every day for us to do a good deed. Either it¹s giving a friend a ride to a job interview, or helping at the local Church or Mission giving out food and clothes to the homeless. JESUS wants us to help those in need, and He will give us the opportunity to do so, all we have to do is have the faith to do the good works He has prepared for us.
