Unfailing Love
[14]
"Has
His
unfailing love vanished forever? Has His
promise failed for all time?"
Psalms
77:8
Despair, woe, times of trouble and what do we do? Well the children of Israel it seems decided to blame GOD for their misfortune, and how is that wrong? Well, when they would fall into sin and worship idols, and false gods they would never think to put the blame where it lied, square on their own shoulders. And how often do we make the same mistake? We can tend to blame someone else when we know the fault is clearly our own.
I remember when I first got my license and a car. I was driving home from the store, and this guy behind me was tailgating me. My stop was coming up, and instead of slowing down all the way I tried to make the 90 degree turn into our driveway at about 45 mph. Can you guess what happened? To this day I still maintain that it was a tree and a boulder that stopped me, but if you were to ask my wife she says; "it is only a shrub with a rock." It gives me comfort to say; "it wasn't my fault, the brakes didn't work!" Oh, or. "the guy behind me caused me to hit the tree because he wouldn't slow down!"
Sound at all familiar? I put the blame anywhere but where it belonged, on my own shoulders. So just because things aren't going your way it doesn't mean that GOD'S unfailing love has abandoned you. It might be that you've gotta get yourself in check first. You might not need to look any farther than the mirror to find the problem.
The truth has been shown to you through the Son, what are you going to get up and do about it?
"All
who call upon the Name of the LORD
will be saved."
Romans
10:13
