Unfailing Love
[13]
"But
I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of GOD;
I trust in GOD'S
unfailing love for ever and ever."
Psalms
52:8
This Psalm was written while David was on the run from King Saul, who more or less just wanted David's head on a stick. David was feeling weak and only the unfailing love of GOD was what sustained him. Imagine if you would that David is John Conner and King saul and his men are terminators, do you get the point? That is how badly Saul wanted to kill David. David was the heart of the people, they adored him, it could have been so easy for him to stand up and take Saul out, but he wouldn't lay a hand on the LORD'S anointed king.
How often do we extract revenge on those who wrong us? And, more to the point, is it right for us to do this? "But they shoved my head in to a locker at school, so isn't only fair to pay them back for what they did to me?" In truth it may be more gratifying to get revenge but it's still wrong. And I ask you how are you setting an example of GOD'S unfailing love for your friends if you're out seeking a way to get vengeance? You're not and don't try to excuse it with the line there only getting what's coming to them.
Who are we to judge? That's GOD'S department and I don't know about you, but I don't want to step on His toes.
The truth has been shown to you through the Son, what are you going to get up and do about it?
"All
who call upon the Name of the LORD
will be saved."
Romans
10:13
